Today, Kanemoto asked me when I'm planning on leaving Japan. At first, I thought he was asking me on behalf of the school, so we could get the ball rolling on buying my return ticket. I mentioned the first week of August, because I'm planning to stay through the Arirang festival.

As we talked, I realized he wasn't asking on behalf of the school. Rather, he was planning to go to Bangkok the first week of August. Planning might be too vague a word: he had already bought the plane ticket. However, he had been designated the ALT picker-upper, meaning he's responsible for going to Omura to pick up Me, Jr., and fly back to Tsushima. He was a little worried about this, because it'd be kind of a big favor to ask another teacher to cover for him.
